The final night of festivities to celebrate the bravery of Phuket sisters Thao Thepkasattri and Thao Srisoonthorn will be held tonight at the Heroine?s monument and around Thalang.

Local government officials and cultural agencies have been working together to put on the festival (13-15 March) for weeks and have spent over 7.8 million baht on preperation. More than 1,000 actors, actresses, dancers and musicians were involved in the festival.

Khun Tree said of the decision to host the festival in Thalang, ?We would like to encourage everybody in Thailand to be interested in their local history. Secondly, we?d like to develop the area as a source of learning and historical attraction.?
