Phuket's Flying Fish make an impact in Singapore
Early March saw two young swimmers from the British International School (BIS) Flying Fish Swimming Club of Phuket participate in the Singapore National Age Group championships with some very impressive results.

Bianca Goetz, 12, a Singapore national at the school, consolidated three silver medals for second place in the 12-year-old category for the 100m (with a time of 1:03.18), 200m (2:17.40) and 400m (4:49.10) freestyle events and one bronze medal for 50m (30.00) freestyle. With these results, Goetz will now be a part of the Singapore Youth National Team to participate in the Southeast Asian Age Group Championships, held in Bangkok June 6-8.

Karnnika Porter, 15, a Thai national student at the school, swam in the 50m and 100m breaststroke events, achieving the second fastest time for the 15-year-old age group and the fifth overall fastest time within the 15-17 age groups. With these performances, Porter will now swim in the Thai National Age Group Championships held this month in Ubon Ratchathani.

Both girls arrived back in Phuket and have resumed their training at BIS in preparation for the upcoming Thailand Age Group Championships and Southeast Asian Age Group Championships.
