The thymus gland lies just beneath the upper part of the breastbone in the chest. This gland is responsible for T cell production, the immune system and discerning antigens.
The thymus gland prepares the T cells to distinguish friend from foe and destroy foreign cells. This role, called immunological surveillance, is directly concerned with resistance to infection and cancer. The thymus is the first organ to be affected by stress and emotional states.
Ever see footage of gorillas pounding their chests before fighting or mating, what do you think they are doing? Moving there energy.
So here is an exercise to strengthen and activate your thymus:
This exercise first starts with placing the tongue on the upper pallet behind your teeth (this is a way to center your body?s energy ? when your tongue is placed in this position , you cannot talk, eat or drink), standing up straight, visualising a rope pulling you from the top of your head, elongating the spine.
Take a deep breath, from the belly as you inhale, start vigorously pounding your thymus gland (at least five times), as you come up on your toes .You can do this as many times a day as needed.
I find this a great exercise during the day when I may be taking a nap and my staff calls and says there is someone that wants to talk to me. Walking down the two flights of stairs, I pound on my thymus, while taking deep breaths, by the time I get to my office I am wide awake and full of energy; no one can tell that I was just napping.
This also works great if you have to make a presentation and you just don?t have the ?juice? up. Thump your thymus before entering the room and your energy will flow.
It is also good to do a few times a day to help boost your immune system
