The Swiss Education Group (SEG) checked in to Phuket for a few days of R&R, networking and marketing early last month.
The SEG has four of its schools in the top ten of schools favoured by the International Hospitality Industry and Paul Caunter, the manager of the Swiss Education Group, Thailand told the
Post that he had high hopes that soon, all of the SEG schools would take the top spots.
Each and every year, many of its graduates come from Thailand, with lots from Phuket making the trip to Switzerland every year, ?In Phuket there?s a huge market. We have many hotel owners who send their children here; we offer a huge range of courses and possibilities for them.?
Mr Caunter was speaking to the Post at a get-together held at the Les Anges restaurant in RPM on 2 November, an event that the SEG put on every so often.
?We like to catch up with our old students and visit them in their new places of work. There are many fine resorts on the island, that many of our ex-students have found work in.?
Switzerland has long been recognised as the premier destination for Hospitality Study and Hotel Management Study, and the SEG ? with over 25 years of experience - is an established school, with many accolades and individual tales of success.?
?Our {students} success,? said Mr Caunter, ?is also our success and shows that the SEG works.?
?We have nearly 12,000 graduates from our school, and over 400 from Thailand. Many of which are now in key positions in the hotel industry all over the world. We have ex-students who are now GM?s, and who now own their own hotels.?
SEG works with over 70 partners from around the world, including the Marriot and Aqua, many of which have branches right here in Phuket, like Banyan Tree which provides many Phuketians that important initial step they need if they wish to succeed in the Phuket hotel industry.
?We give a very good balance between academic studies and practical knowledge. We have a campus of over 70 different nationalities, from U.S, Africa, Europe, the Middle East.
"This is very important as our students get to not only learn about hospitality but also about different nationalities. As of course working in a hotel in Phuket, our students will be working with guests of many different nationalities and diversities.?
