Phuket Carnival at Patong 2007 is the annual three day three night festival that marks the beginning of the tourist season in Phuket, This year, the celebrated theme is ?Art, Culture and Fun? represented by decorations, concerts and activities around Patong Beach area. Part of the festival is dedicated to the King in honor of his 80th birthday anniversary with exhibitions displaying royal activities and projects. People are encouraged to wear yellow for the opening ceremony in his honor.

18.30 Mr. Krerkkrai Jeerapat, the Ministry of Commerce?s minister, arrives to the Loma Park to preside over the ceremony.
*** The parade moves to the official opening ceremony site at Lama Park
18.31 Phuket Governor, Mr. Nirand Kalayanamitr, gives a speech welcoming Mr. Krerkkrai Jeerapat, the president of the ceremony.
18.35 Patong Major gives a speech about the event.
18.45 The emcee invitites the president of the ceremony to give an opening speech making the beginning of the event.
19.05 The president, Phuket governor, the vice president of TAT and Major of Patong light the candles at the beach as the official opening of the ceremony.
