Thursday Feb 14 14:45: Phuket Post reporters have learned from the staff at the Boat lagoon Marina Department that 2 crew members have sustained grievous injuries from the explosion on the boat "Sakila" at the Boat Lagoon marina early this afternoon.
The two crew members, Ammaj Saunsan and Nopparit Mahakarn, were taken to Vachira Hospital for treatment. One of them is reportedly seriously injured and is currently in surgery. The other is also being treated in the surgery department.
The staff of Boat Lagoon Marina Department informed the Post that an electrical mishap caused the explosion on the the boat, which was on the way back from an excursion to Kai island.

Thursday Feb 14 13:30 hrs: An explosion aboard a boat docked at the Boat Lagoon marina this afternoon has left the boat gutted and two others damaged.
The incident is being said to have been caused due to a fuel-tank explosion. Witnesses at the Boat Lagoon told the Post that fire services took 20 minutes to get to the scene of the mishap, by which time the fire had spread to the two boats docked nearby. Damage is reported to be extensive, there are no reports of human fatalities as of now.
Witnesses added that there seemed to be no emergency fire extinguishing aids on the scene, and security had to try dousing the flames with an ordinary garden hose.
Phuket Post reporters contacted the offices of the Boat Lagoon, but were told that officials were investigating the incident and were unavailble for immediate comment.
