Marketing co-ordinator for the Grimm Up North film festival in Manchester, Noel Mellor
is hoping that the Phuket Post readers can help him.
They are currently putting together their programme for the October 2010 festival and
are keen to show a Thai movie called Cheun (Slice in the UK). The movie is a horror thriller that - in addition to having a spectacular story - shows off some of the beautiful and littleseen countryside of Thailand.
?Echoing some of the themes addressed in Danny Boyle?s 2008 Oscar winner Slumdog Millionaire, we believe this movie has great potential and would be a fantastic addition to our bill. However, we?re having some difficulty showcasing the movie due to funding and are hopeful one of your readers might be able to help,? said Mr Mellor.
The spine-chiller has been nominated for a whopping fourteen out of sixteen nominations
at Thailand?s national film awards.
One of the reasons that the festival organisers are having difficulty raising the funds is
that Director Kongkiat Khomsiri insists that the film be screened in 35mm which is an
extremely costly method.
