Jammin Music Club reopened Friday 28 April after owner Mel Purdue spent 2 million baht to rebuild the club after a devastating fire. The club burned down early on the morning of April 1. ? Like I said before, it would not take long for us to rebuild. The only thing slowing us down was the insurance company. If we had to wait for them to make a decision, then we would not have been able to reopen so quickly. Instead we used our own money to pay for the renovations.?
?The club is a little different now. We have moved the DJ booth inside, replaced the lighting and changed most of the upstairs because it was quite badly damaged by the smoke."
?All of the members of staff were kept employed during the renovation?, said Club Manager Klay Songdacha, ?They have been working hard decorating and rebuilding the club to look like it was before fire.?
The reopening party drew large crowds of well-wishers to the club and was one of their busiest nights ever. Earlier in the day the club was blessed by Monks in order to bring good luck to the venture.
