What better place to have a hospital that specialises in Chinese and alternative medicine than in Phuket?
That is the thinking behind not only Pansiri Kulanatsiri, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Public Health but also the Chinese government who have decided to open a Thai-Chinese Medical Centre in Kamala next year.
The Chinese government proposed a budget of 30 million baht to build a new health station way back in 2004 and in 2010 an MOU was finally signed between the Thai Ministry of Public Health and the Chinese government.
The focus will be on Chinese traditional practices and ?alternative treatment and medicine?. Khun Pansiri said of the health station?s goal, ?It will act as a service to promote good health and treatment and will work within a network of doctors at nearby hospitals.?
Khun Pansiri added that as Kamala is the one of the most popular tourist attractions in Phuket then there is a real need to have access to high quality specialized treatment such as dental work, and emergency medical services.
The Thai-Chinese Medical Centre in Kamala will have will have what it likes to call the 3S?s: Style with an emphasis on the aesthetics and of natural scenery, access to (Medical) Services needed to link with other hospitals, and a (welcoming) Service to make the patients and relatives feel welcome and relaxed.
