WHILE the football and cricket leagues of Phuket are relatively strong, the sport of floorball is still relatively unknown The Phuket Devils floorball club is hoping to change all that and are appealing for more members.

The two-year-old club was founded by Krister Westberg and Billy Argen, both of whom are shareholders of Two Chefs restaurant.

?We need to expand the game to people in Phuket as much as possible. Hopefully we can make a league by the end of this year? said Billy.

Floorball is a Swedish sport that is extremely popular in Scandanavian countries. It is played indoors and is similar to ice hockey, but without the ice and skates. Actually probably more similar to hockey, but without the pucks (played with a round ball) and physical contact, The club practises three times a week and are hoping to travel to Singapore next year to play against some teams there. So if you feel like giving it a go, ?Anyone who wants to join is welcome,? Krister said.
