The other ?Phuket Post Office? has found a way around the World Cup gambling ban by launching a special ?predict the world cup results? postcard.

Bunlue Pingrat, the Chief of the Phuket Post Office said that it had 1.1 million postcards available for those customers with a desire to shout their predictions from the roof top and also gamble? I mean win prizes.

The Thai Post along with the Thairath newspaper has predicted to earn about 180 million baht from this campaign.

Customers can go into their local Post Office and purchase a postcard for just 2 baht, it will be stamped and then sent to Bangkok along with the other millions of World Cup Prediction Postcards.

Khun Bunlue said that those lucky ones who guessed right could win big, ?The biggest cash prize is for 10 million baht, and there are lots of other smaller prizes.?

For the football loving Phuketians there is a special opportunity to win appliances such as TVs, fans and rice cooking pots for those who buy more than 200 postcards. They will receive a coupon in which to enter a lucky draw.

Khun Bunlue said that he estimated an increase in interest during this World Cup because of the favourable time difference between South Africa and Thailand, ?Most people are awake and can watch the live broadcasts. Already 30 % of postcards have been sold from our ten Phuket branches. We aim to earn about 2.2 million baht.?
