Hard Rock Cafe is celebrating its 40th year anniversary this month with a 40 day-long party that kicked off on May 18 with its ?Ambassador of Rock? competition.

The weighty-title was claimed by Patong local stall owner and T-shirt seller Saman Sumalee who triumphed over his
competitors in rounds of general knowledge, guitar skills on Guitar Hero video game and final head-to-head tie-breakers.

?The last question was: ?What time does Hard Rock close?? and of course because I work so close nearby, I knew the answer to that,? smiled Khun Saman.

The Ambassador of Rock 2011 is a three-day musical celebration being held in London?s Hyde Park from Friday, June 24 through Sunday, June 26.

For those of us unable to visit London, we can still celebrate the 40 days of rock at the Hard Rock Caf?, Phuket, with events being held every day.

Monday: 1st Singha Draft beer for Free, if you were born any day and month in 1971.
Tuesday: 1st Singha Draft beer at 40 baht for everybody.
Wednesday: 6 Hickory-smoked chicken wings all day and all night for just 40 baht.
Thursday: Eating competition 40 oz Hard Rock Legendary Burgers at 699 baht to enter the competition and a 1,000 baht prize, if you finish all burger, sides and fries.
Friday: Show any items from the year of 1971 to get a free legendary burger and Singha Draft beer. Age must be verifiable.
Saturday: First 40 customers get free entry to ?Hard Rock Foam Party.?
Sunday: Hard Rock Cafe Souvenir Button for 40 baht, all day all night.

The final event of the ?40 DAYS OF ROCK? will be held on 14 June. To celebrate the day that Hard Rock was founded,
the Hard Rock Cafe Phuket will be inviting 40 local orphans to enjoy a lunch and have a rockin? good time. All Phuketians are invited to show support and have fun with the kids.

Hard Rock Cafe Phuket will also be hosting a Monthly ?Amazing Phuket Benefit Series? to aid in the construction of the new Phuket Youth Sports Complex, the first of which was held on 4 June with electrifying performances by ?Goober Gun? from the UK and Thai superstars Modern Dog.
