How would you describe the art that you create?
The art that I create would be best described as contemporary abstract; my focus is on colour and composition, line and form and spatial dynamics. My
on-going ?Reef Series? of paintings is a good example; I focus on macro images of marine creatures to achieve my unique compositions.

Can you learn how to be an artist?
Yes. Anybody can learn to be an artist but not everyone achieves greatness.

What kind of things do you teach in a class?
I teach my students, both adults and children, to look and see things from a different perspective.

Why should people learn to paint/make art?
In my experience adults and children alike enjoy this form of visional communication, it?s relaxing, it?s fun and in most cases emotionally rewarding. Self
expression plays a major part in the enjoyment of this art form.

What is the most important thing that art provides to the world?
It?s a form of visual communication and allows people to cross traditional language and cultural boundaries.

What do you think of Phuket?
Vibrant and energetic.

What is your opinion on Thai art?
There are a lot of technically talented artists that should be encouraged to create original art compositions.

Can anybody learn to paint?
Yes - handicapped adults and children are included
in my answer and the young and old. Some need
different levels of encouragement to learn.

Have you met any budding artists during the workshops at Laguna?
Yes, every day, especially the children! They continue to surprise me as they grasp my techniques so quickly.

What should art do? Does art have to ?do? anything?
Yes, it should stimulate and promote an emotive response.
