Land invaders given rights

Land invaders who have lived in any one of the fifteen ‘invaded’ villages in Phuket for more than three years will soon be issued with a title deed (chanote) for their property to prevent any further invasions.The committee of the Network to Improve the Police and Social (NIPS) met with the related provincial offices to discuss ways to solve the problem of people moving into an area and building a house on land that does not belong to them.
New 4000-seat gymnasium for Sapan Hin
The Deputy Prime Minister, Korbsak Sabhavasu visited Phuket recently to check up on the progress of the proposed new gymnasium in Sapan Hin. The new 4000 seat stadium will be ready in time to host the 25th National Youth Games, scheduled to be held in Phuket in 2012.

Popular presenter of television programme “Are you smarter than kids?” Kanit Sarasin was in Phuket recently to film a series of outdoor programmes. The team from Channel 3 filmed a show in the Jungceylon Courtyard, which attracted many students from Phuket City Municipality’s schools, many of whom participated in the quiz show.
